SHARP Annual Training
It is once again time for annual Sexual Harassment/Assault Response Prevention (SHARP) training. Training must be completed prior to Sep 30. You must complete both the online and face-to-face SHARP training.
The SHARP online self-paced training “Standing Strong” can be found on Army Learning Management System (ALMS) on Army Knowledge Online (AKO) webpage under “My Training.”
New guidance for FY 14 SHARP training has come out. The SHARP face-to-face training starts Thursday May 15 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for two hours each session (recommended 3 hours). SHARP training will be held in the Community Room of Army Community Service (ACS) building 250. Training will continue on Thursday’s at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on May 22 and 29, June 05, 12, 19 and 26, and July 10, 17 and 24, and Aug. 14, 21 and 28, and Sept. 4, 11, 18 and 25. Space is limited to a maximum of 50 attendees per class (recommended 16 per class). You must register by going to https://wsdmnew.wsmr.army.mil/org/mwr/acs/SitePages/sharp.aspx to reserve your seat for the date and time of training you are planning to attend. Registering on line will produce sign in rosters. Those sign in rosters will be available for you to affix your signature next to your printed name. This is a change from previous training and requires the additional step of registering on line. Although there is adequate space for more than 50 people to attend each face-to-face training, only the 50 individuals who reserved their seat will be allowed at each session. The high profile and complex nature of SHARP mandates that a smaller environment more conducive to dialogue and conversation be implemented for training.
Proof of completed online training may be required by your Unit Training Manager/Coordinator (UTM/C); however, the SHARP office does not need proof. SHARP program personnel will not print certificates this year, as a means to save resources. The sign in rosters will be uploaded for the UTM/Cs to review after training is completed, as proof of personnel attendance.
If you have a religious or moral objection to the online videos, please go through your chain of command to resolve this matter. SHARP program personnel don’t provide an exception to training policy on this matter.
If you have completed the SHARP training in another venue during FY 14, please provide that information to your UTM/Cs, as SHARP personnel will collect only percentages, not names. Those percentages will be reported weekly to Command by Organization and 100% compliance is required.
