Subject matter experts within the mental and physical health realm and representatives within each WSMR organization were brought together to make up WSMR’s first Community Health Promotion Council. The council will serve as the Senior Commander’s board of directors and will meet quarterly and discusses topics like Soldier and civilian resiliency. The first official meeting was held at the Command Conference room July 14.
The intent of the council is to educate the public and implement different facets within the Ready and Resilient campaign. The council is made up of 31 members to represent the different organizations and aspects within the installation. The council was developed by a working group that met monthly last year and the beginning of this year.
The 31 members will report on the successes and downfalls of the program and discuss ways to improve the lines of communication.
