Maj. Brian S. Ravak, outgoing commander for Air Force Detachment 1, 586th Test Squadron at White Sands Missile Range, right, passes the 586th Flight Test Squadron flag to Lt. Col. Steven M. Ross, Commander, 586th Flight Test Squadron. Ravak was appointed as commander in July of this year, prior to that he served as Director of Operations of Detachment 1, 586th Flight Test Squadron. Ravak enlisted in the Air Force in 1987 and was commissioned in 2003. He served in several different capacities throughout his career, including Image Systems Engineer and Chief of English Language Training in Iraq. Ross thanked Ravak for his commitment to his roles at WSMR and his exemplary work ethic.
“(Ravak) you’ve done a fantastic job and I just want to say thank you,” Ross said.
Ravak will be retiring from the Air Force; an official retirement ceremony is scheduled for this Friday.
“It’s really about the people, there’s professionalism all around. I’m very proud to have been able to serve my country,” Ravak said.
