The Doña Ana Arts Council proudly continues its 2014/2015 Performance Series with a celebration of Black History Month, as Cirque Zuma Zuma brings all the mysticism, magic and excitement of the African continent to Las Cruces for a stellar night of astonishing physicality. Boasting sell-out seasons in Europe and an extended run in Australia, Cirque Zuma Zuma has been called a blend of Cirque du Soleil and the Harlem Globetrotters, filled with acrobatic ingenuity that will have audience members poised at the edge of their seats. Cirque Zuma Zuma will bring international artistry to the Rio Grande Theatre, Saturday, January 31, 2014.
Cirque Zuma Zuma isn’t your average circus act. Comprised of uniquely talented performers from across 16 African nations, the non-stop show features the same fantastic acrobats who made their North American primetime television debut on America’s Got Talent. Among the many spectacles slated for the evening are pole acts and human pyramids, Egyptian limbos, South African gumboot dances, Gabonese tumbling and Ethiopian contortions, wrapped up in colorful costumes and accompanied by live music and percussionists.
