Las Cruces – The New Mexico Department of Transportation along with Paveover Inc. will be working along NM 478 north of Mesquite from mile marker 14 towards Mesilla mile marker 21.5. The contractor will be start work on Tuesday June 16, 2015 and is scheduled to be working on NM 478 for approximately 2 months.
The contractor will start at mile marker 14 working northbound towards Mesilla. The work will consist of recycling the existing mat in order to aid in extending the longevity of the roadway. Traffic control will be set up daily Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm. A pilot car and flagging personnel will be placed within the work zone during daily operations as motorists encounter intermittent lane closures and reduction in speed.
Once the contractor has reached mile marker 21.5 in Mesilla they will move over to the southbound lanes and repeat the process until they reach mile maker 14 near Mesquite. The NMDOT along with Paveover Inc. is asking motorists to use caution and to anticipate minor delays when entering the work zone.
