Test Center Commander Col. Eric Rannow presented awards to several employees and talked about Test Center accomplishments during a June 30 Test Center Town Hall at the Post Theater that ended with ice cream cones for everyone in attendance.
Test Center accomplishments included the following:
•Accomplished over 1,220 missions last year
-817 of those were SVAD missions (Nuke/Radiation/Electromagnetic Environmental Effects/Directed Energy)
-403 of those were Open Air Range missions (Rocket/Missile/Bomb/Projective/Sled Track/Static Explosion/Laser/Drone)
•Army Air flew 1,224 hours of test and test support missions
•There were 7 Quality Step Increases awarded in FY16
•43 Upward Mobility Positions (ACTEDS, local interns, or developmental positions)
•39 Competitive Recruitment Actions to include 4 External Promotions and 35 Internal promotions
•WSTC awarded 8 out of 10 degree opportunities
Test Center Survey Results:
Rannow spoke about the importance of training junior employees and communication within the organization.
-Employees know how their work relates to the agency’s goal and priorities
-Employees rate the quality of work they do as important
-Leaders need to generate high levels of motivation/commitment in the workforce
-Managers need to communicate the goals and priorities of the organization.
-Employees are not satisfied with on the job training they receive
It is important to remember summer safety to include:
•Leave fireworks to the professionals
•Many water related deaths are attributed to boating accidents and no use of life jackets. Don’t drink when near the water.
•Traffic and Traveling: Plan ahead, buckle up and no distractions
•Heat Index: Use sunscreen and stay out of the sun to include children and pets.
