Air Force Detachment 1 586th Flight Test Squadron at White Sands Missile Range welcomed incoming Commander Maj. Ryan P. Lemaire July 7 during an assumption of command ceremony at the Cox Range Control Center.
586th Flight Test Squadron Commander Lt. Col. Robert L. Odom welcomed Lemaire and his family to White Sands Missile Range.
He thanked WSMR Commander Brig. Gen. Timothy Coffin for his continued support of Air Force testing at WSMR.
“I can testify that Maj. Lemaire has the leadership characteristics that will allow him to succeed with your most important mission of supporting the U.S. Air Force Test and training at WSMR.”
“You are accepting a great legacy here and responsibility of leading this team, Odom said. “I wish you the best in your new challenge.”
Lemaire said he looks forward to working with everyone. “I look forward to advancing the WSMR and Air Force mission,” he said.
“Missions that we perform here are critical to the success of these programs because of the unique capabilities that WSMR offers.”
“The support the Detachment provides is critically important to the vast majority of major acquisition programs. It gives us a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the many different weapon systems. Therefore, I am truly honored to be part of the team. I look forward to working with the small team that makes a big impact in the DoD and joint service capabilities,” Lemaire said during the ceremony.
“I look forward to continue to provide top notch service to all our programs ensuring that we continue to be a valued member of the many test programs that we work with.”
In December 2011 Lemaire was assigned to the 780th Test Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. He served as Flight Commander for both the Guns and Missile and Air-to-Surface Test Flights before becoming an Assistant Director of Operations.
His most recent assignment was to Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.
