Garrison Commander Col. Gary Giebel made the official public announcement for A-76 Competitive Sourcing actions for the Directorate of Public Works and Directorate of Logistics July 28 at the Post Theater.

The official start date for the A-76 competition was July 28.

Giebel did not answer questions but told attendees he would answer any future questions as information is available during monthly follow-up meetings. The next meeting is Aug. 30.

“I hope it turns out for the best and we do get an efficient organization out of it. That is the whole point whether it stays in house or it gets contracted. It forces us to become efficient,” June Valdez, a budget analyst with Resource Management said.

Lynae Jacks, the local A-76 Human Resources advisor for the competitive sourcing effort, said the competition means work for people to come up with the best deal. “Hopefully WSMR will be able to keep the work within,” she said.

For more information look for a link to commercial sourcing information which is under development and will be available on both the WSMR Test and Garrison home pages.
